Soft polish

Introduction

The automotive soft polish is an abrasive compound with a very fine particle size and a uniform grain distribution, designed for polishing bodywork. Unlike coarse polishes, whose main purpose is to remove thickness and eliminate deep scratches, this product has low cutting power and high finishing power, and its task is the final correction of the surface texture and the restoration of the glossy quality of the paint surface. Fine scratches, haze left over from the coarse polishing stage and the oxidised surface layer all cause irregular scattering of light; the result is reduced gloss, loss of depth of colour and a dull, hazy appearance of the bodywork. The fine abrasives of this product restore the regular reflection of light by levelling the microscopic unevenness of the bodywork surface. In addition, the oils and lubricating components in the formula also control the friction and local heat produced by polishing and prevent paint burn. This product is safe for modern vehicle paints and can be used on solid and metallic paints, and it can be applied both by hand and with a rotary polishing machine.

Directions for use

Surface preparation: Wash and dry the bodywork thoroughly; dust or grit on the surface during polishing will cause new scratches. If there are deep scratches, first carry out the Ghaffari coarse polishing stage, and then apply this product as the final stage.

Machine application:

1. Divide the bodywork surface into equal areas.
2. Place a small amount of the product on a soft polishing pad (finishing foam).
3. With the machine switched off, place it on the surface and spread the soft polish with a few gentle movements, then switch the machine on.
4. Work with light pressure and cross-wise movements (horizontal and vertical) for about 2 to 3 minutes until the product turns clear.
5. Remove the residue with a clean microfibre cloth.
6. If necessary, repeat the step.

Manual application: Apply a small amount of the product to a sponge or microfibre cloth and work over the surface with circular movements and even pressure; then carry out the final finishing with a clean microfibre cloth. The manual method is less efficient than using a machine.

Supplementary recommendations: Work in the shade and on a cool surface; do not polish under direct sunlight, on hot bodywork, on fresh paint that has not been cured (before the paint has dried completely), on matt and colourless plastic parts, on labels or on matt black surfaces. Before general application, test the product on a small, inconspicuous area. Clean the polishing pad regularly during work to prevent the build-up of abrasive and removed paint layer. Set the machine speed to a medium level; high speed combined with heavy pressure increases the risk of paint burn. Polish edges, raised body lines and corners with less pressure, since the paint is thinner in these areas.

Storage and warnings

• For external use only, on painted vehicle surfaces.
• Avoid contact with the eyes; in case of contact, do not rub the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water, and consult a doctor if discomfort persists.
• In case of prolonged skin contact, wash the area with soap and water.
• Do not swallow the product.
• Keep out of the reach of children.

1. Store in the original, closed packaging, in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, at a temperature of +5 to +30 degrees Celsius.
2. Protect the product from freezing.
