Surface water repellent

Introduction

The surface water repellent is a protective coating liquid based on silicone compounds, for protecting building facades and mineral-based materials. Unlike varnish oil or stone-gloss resins, which block the pores and do not let the material breathe, this product, thanks to its non-polar molecular nature, penetrates deep into the structure of cement, brick and stone without forming a visible layer and makes the capillary network water-repellent, while the path for water vapour stays open. This breathability prevents moisture from being trapped inside the wall and the facade structure from being damaged by winter freezing.

By penetrating deep, the surface water repellent prevents efflorescence, freezing and soiling of cement, brick and stone surfaces in interior and exterior environments.

Directions for use

1. The target surface must be clean, dry and free of dust, oil, grease, paint, flaking resins, moss, algae and loose compounds; if any are present, remove them with a brush and a suitable detergent and let the surface dry completely.
2. Fill and level cracks, settlements and local cavities with a suitable mortar or repair material before application, to provide a uniform surface for applying the surface water repellent.
3. The product is ready to use. (No dilution needed)
4. Apply the surface water repellent with a wide brush, roller or spray gun from bottom to top until the surface is completely covered and saturated with the material. (The choice of application tool depends on the size of the surface)
5. On very porous surfaces, applying the second coat immediately, before the first coat dries, is recommended.
6. The time to dry and reach final resistance (depending on the substrate and weather conditions) is between 24 and 48 hours.

Notes

• Avoid application at very low temperatures, during rain and in extreme humidity. If it rains before the product has dried completely, prevent direct contact of water with the coated surface (with a temporary cover).
• Do not mix the product with materials such as solvents or building paints.

Storage and warnings

• Wear gloves when using. Keep out of reach of children.
• Store away from direct sunlight and heat sources, in a well-ventilated place.
